Students enrolled in the master degree in Architectural Design and History, have several opportunities to engage with the international architectural scene through internships and career opportunities.

INTERNSHIPS

The programme of the Master of Science in Architectural Design and History includes an internship, which students can also develop abroad. The Mantova Campus of Politecnico di Milano has developed special agreements with international architectural studios who are welcoming internships – for example Peter Eisenman Studio in New York, Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Paris, João Carrilho da Graça Studio in Lisbon, METRO ARQUITETOS in São Paulo, Guillermo Vazquez Consuegra in Seville, Tabuenca&Leache in Pamplona, Andrew Berman Architect in New York, Paulo David in Madeira.

The 4 to 6-month training gives students the opportunity to acquire knowledge in the field of architectural design, urban planning, architectural preservation and building construction by experiencing high level international design projects. Every one selected student is awarded a grant.


CAREER
OPPORTUNITIES

Career opportunities for graduate students in Architectural Design and History are wide-ranging, including roles in professional studios or as freelance architects, or in collaboration with public bodies and institutions, international companies and enterprises, or public and private research and consultancy organizations.


INTERNATIONAL
EXPERIENCES

The international vocation of the Master of Science in Architectural Design and History is enhanced by a wealthy set of opportunities. On the one hand, a number of international scholars and architects from European and non-European countries carry out teaching activities as regular or visiting professors in the Mantova Campus. Since the academic year 2014/2015, the Pritzker Prize 2011, Eduardo Souto de Moura is teaching at Mantova Campus as full professor of Architectural Design in Historical Context Studio. Several renowned architects and professors also participate in the intensive design workshops included in the didactic framework. On the other hand, the students attending the Master of Science have the opportunity to participate in various design workshops which are organized by the Mantova Campus of Politecnico di Milano in partnership with international institutions – e.g. Tap Design Workshop in cooperation with Tongji University – College of Architecture and Urban Planning in Shanghai and University of Adelaide, as well as in cooperation with Shenkar College in Tel Aviv as well. Moreover, Politecnico di Milano offers to the students the opportunity to participate in high quality international projects based on EU programmes and special agreements with many partner universities.
